Mount Damavand in Iran is the important mountain. Mount Damavand, a dormant volcano, is the highest volcano in all of Asia, the highest mountain in the Middle East and the highest elevation within Iran. It is located in the middle of the Alborz Range about 66 km northeast of Tehran.
