Kapaleeswara and Parthasarathi Temples - Chennai
Mylapore is the site of the famous hindu temple Kapaleeswara, dedicated to lord Shiva. The temple is a traditional unified complex – it has the market, the Tank and nearby Brahmin residential Houses. Every year, a festival is held at this temple. The pyramids of the Gopurams on entrance rise majestically in the horizon making the temple a landmark of Chennai. Another ancient temple in Chennai is Parthasarathi, dedicated to lord Vishnu in the Triplincane section of the city. It was built in the 8th century by an early Pallava king.
