Chennai Snake Park - Guindy
Chennai Snake Park is a charming spot. It was set up by an American, Romulus Whitaker, as a conservation project. It is located in the beautiful Guindy Deer Park. About 500 different types of snakes can be seen moving in natural surroundings. Other reptiles on show are crocodiles, alligators, monitor lizards and chameleons. Over half a million visitors come to the Snake Park every year. The entrance fee collections are used for the upkeep of the park, which also receives some financial support from the World Wildlife Fund.
