NATIONAL TOURISM AWARDS 2005-2006.
ENTRIES CLOSE ON 15-12-2006. Ministry of Tourism Government of India
In recognition of outstanding contribution in the field or Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, proposes to announce the National Tourism Awards for the year 2005-2006 ( April-05 to March’-06). These awards are the following categories:
National Awards: (1) Hotels:
(a) Hotels (b) Heritage Hotels (c) Best Eco Friendly Hotel (d) Pvt/ Public enterprises providing facilities for physically challenged persons.
(2) Travel Trade:
(a) Best Travel Agents
(b) Best Tour Operators
(c) Best Adventure Tour Operator
(d) Best Domestic Tour Operator
(i) North East of India including Sikkim (ii) Rest of India
(e) Most Innovative Tour Operator
(f) Best MICE Tour Operator
(g) Best Tourist Transport Operators
Awards of Excellence:
(3).Excellence in publishing (one award each in English & Hindi language)
(4) Best Tourism Film.
(5) Best collaterals / Publicity Materials nominations from States / U.T’s only.
(6) Best Foreign charter for India
(7) Best overseas Tour operators for India from each region.
(8) Best foreign journalist for India
(9) Best foreign photographer for India
(10) Best States/ UT (Tourism related programmes)
(i) Rest of India (ii) North East of India including Sikkim)
(11) Best maintained Tourist Friendly National Park/ Wild Life Sanctuary.
(12) Best maintained Tourism Friendly Monument.
(13) Most innovative / Unique Tourism Project
(14) Best Rural Tourism Project
(15) Best NGO promoting/ Developing Tourism
(16) Most innovative use of Inf. Technology/ Best Tourism Website/ Portal promoting India
(17) Best Tourist Guide
(18) Best Chef of India

Entries are different categories along with relevant details may be submitted to the respective divisional heads in the Ministry of Tourism as per details given in the guidelines. The category of the award for which entry is being submitted should be clearly mentioned on the envelope.
The last date for receiving the entries is 15 December 2006.
