Morni in Haryana is a quick getaway from Chandigarh. Just 50 km from the city and perched at a good 3, 600 feet, it is a hilltop village covered with pines. While there are a couple of hotels at the top, the more picturesque part of Morni lies about 10 km downhill, where there are two large lakes called Sherla Taal and Tikkar Taal.
The latter is larger, measuring 550 metres long and 460 metres wide. There are facilities for camping, boating and other adventure sports at Tikkar Taal.
