EDAMALAKUDY TRAVEL INFORMATION
Edamalakudy, the first tribal grama pnchayat in Devikulam Thaluk, Idukki district of Kerala. Edamalakudy is not a single tribal hamlet as the name falsely indicates. It is collection of more than 30 Muthuvan hamlets, of which Puthukudy, Periyakudi, Shedkudy, Parappayar, Kanakudy, Kandathukudt, Meenkuthy, mulakuthara, Ddalippara, chembukulam and Andavankudy are the prominent ones.
These hamlets are embedded in dense evergreen forests covering thousands of acres. Each hamlet is about three to five kilometers away from the nearby hamlets taking sufficient risk of travelling through this elephant infested forest.

How To Reach Edamalakudy ?
By Road: Get down at Pettymudy by jeep from munnar (19km), and walk 16 km thorugh dense forest.
By Air: Needumbassery Cochin International Airport - 165 km.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Aluva (150km). Ernakulam is 170 km.
