Unique Museums in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad is unusual in more ways than one. Within its precincts are housed four unique museums.
Sarabhai Calico Museum: The Sarabhai Calico Museum is the only good museum in India devoted entirely to textiles - now housed in the gardens of the Sarabhai family mansion.
NC Mehta Museum:This museum has the finest culture of Indian Miniature Paintings, and it is housed in the Sanskar Kendra Municipal Museum designated by the French master Le Corbusier. Veechar is a large collection of rare Indian utensils housed in a newly constructed traditional Gujarat village called Vishala - mentioned earlier for its famous restaurant.
Shreyas Folk Art Museum: Another worthwhile museum is Shreyas Folk Art Museum holding traditional mirror work, distinctive tribal clothes and decorations - located off Circular Road in Ahmedabad.
