The Shaking Minarets - Ahmedabad
A little south of the railway station is Sidi Bashir Mosque for its shaking minarets - an architectural wonder. When one minaret is shaken, the others rock in sympathy. This was said to be for protection against earthquakes. The Raj Bibi Mosque also had shaking minarets, one of which was dismantled by an inquisitive Englishman to discover its secret.
Ahmed Shah's ornamental mausoleum can be seen in Manak Chowk. Also in Manak Chowk rests the last Hindu ruler of Junagadh who was forcibly converted to Islam.
